Meals continued and clothing sorted for the flood victims of Acuna, Mexico. Please continue to pray of cleanup efforts, feeding, and household items such as mattresses, chairs, and hygiene kits. Pray about what God would allow you to give financially to our neighbors. If we all contribute some, many will be blessed. To God be there glory!!

Today I am posting follow-up to many of your questions. The waters have receded, and the cleanup is ongoing. As you can see from the pictures, the Mexican military are patrolling, the feeding continues (Wednesday-2,500 meals served, Thursday-3,500 meals served), and the cleaning of personal belongings such as sofas and beds.
On Thursday, 2 people professed Jesus as Lord and Savior, 10 others recommitted their lives to the Lord!
The main need is for financial support. The border is a tuff place to cross items of bulk quantity. The Mexican government prefers sales be made on their side of the border to pump the money in their economy, which does make sense. So, you can still donate good used clothing, and dry & canned food items. You can bring them or send them to FBC Del Rio, 301 Ave G., Del Rio, Texas 78840. Financial contributions can be made on-line through our website via paypal. Our website is www.fbcdelrio.com
Stay In the Light, 1 John 1:7
As the feeding of 2500 people continues in Acuna, Mexico, lives are being changed. Yesterday, my friend Luis Martinez, who is on site as the coordinator texted about one thing that they are making sure that happens, and that is to share the Gospel of the Living Savior, Jesus.
10 salvations occurred yesterday.
Investments in todays market are shaky at best. One never knows if the financial commitments we do will be there when we need them. Here is an opportunity to invest into that is guaranteed. When a person comes to Christ, they receive the Holy Spirit, according to Ephesians 1:13-14, the Holy Spirit guarantees their eternal security. Wow, a 100% return! God is at work in Acuna, Mexico.
Please continue to pray for our neighbors. Please continue to give so that the work can continue. Please come to the border so that you can be the hands and feet of Jesus. Thank you
Today as I write, Would you pray with me for our neighbors in Acuna, Mexico? 3,000 families have lost everything. These pictures were taken Saturday by Luis Martinez of http://www.crossvisionmissions.org
Here is what you can do:
1. Pray 2. Come to the border and help 3. Give-send a check to FBC Del Rio, 301 Ave G, Del Rio, TX 78840 or by going on-line at FBC Del Rio and donating via pay-pal. Please designate to ACUNA FLOOD and we will ensure the funding gets to where it needs to go.
Rain has been desperately needed here in the Del Rio area. We have been blessed over the past 2 days to experience a great amount of it. Again, praise the Lord.
Our brothers and sisters to the south of us in Acuna. MX received a vast amount that has cause 12 colonias to be flooded, with some areas amassing 9 feet of water. My good friend Luis Martinez is on the scene and they have fed 2000 meals today. The need is great. Food, clothing, and basic human needs are urgent at this time.
If you are a regular reader of this blog please forward to as many that you can, to get the word out. We need your prayers first and foremost. Then we need your help. If you can contribute financially to this need, I will personally make sure the funds are used for the items at need in connection to Acuna. You can give through our website at church by donating via paypal. The site is www.fbcdelro.com Please pray about what to give. If you can bring a group to help with the cleanup send me an email firstname.lastname@example.org
Stay in the Light, 1 John 1:7,
I believe this video explains the importance VBS still has in the life of a church!
We just completed 4 nights of an amazing VBS. Here is a pic of some of our volunteers. I say some because only 43 are pictured here, and we have had 60 altogether. God has shown Himself to us and the children we have been ministering to. Thank you to all who helped make this a very memorable time.
We do have 1 more night to do and that is tonight. We have parent’s night, where the children will show the families what God has taught them throughout the week. One of the events for the evening will be baptism. Some of our children have made a decision to follow Jesus earlier this year, so we will be baptizing them tonight. We did have several children respond to the gospel call last night as well (34), so we will be doing some follow up with those families. God is so good!! All the time!!
